Privacy Policy for Serene Workspace: how we collect, use, and protect account, payment, calendar, music, community, and analytics data.

Last updated: August 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Serene Workspace (“Serene”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use sereneworkspace.xyz and related services.

1. Who we are

Serene Workspace is an adaptive focus workspace that provides a Pomodoro / deep-work timer, tasks, notes, ambient sounds, curated environments, and optional Serene Pro features. For privacy questions, contact kriyanshishah06@gmail.com .

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: email address and authentication details when you sign up or sign in (via Supabase Auth).
  • Workspace data: tasks, focus sessions, theme, and related cloud content you create while signed in. Notes, stickies, and most desk preferences stay in your browser.
  • Guest / local data: if you use guest mode, data stays in your browser (local storage). Signing in does not automatically upload notes or import guest tasks.
  • Payment information: when you purchase Serene Pro, payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive payment confirmation details (such as order/payment identifiers and subscription status). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Google Calendar (optional, Pro): if you connect Google Calendar, we receive OAuth tokens and limited calendar data needed to show today’s events in the workspace. You can disconnect at any time.
  • Spotify (optional, Pro): if you connect Spotify, we receive OAuth tokens and limited profile, playlist, and recently-played data needed to play your music in the mixer. Playback uses Spotify’s Web Playback SDK in your browser. You can disconnect at any time.
  • Community board: if you vote or suggest a wallpaper or song, we store your account association with that vote or suggestion. Suggestion titles, descriptions, and optional links are shown publicly on the community page. Vote counts are public; individual votes are not listed.
  • Usage & analytics: we may collect product analytics and site analytics (for example via PostHog and Google Analytics) such as page views, feature usage, and device/browser information. We aim not to send task titles, note contents, or other free-text user content as analytics properties.
  • Technical logs: server logs may include IP address, timestamps, and error information needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Serene Workspace
  • Authenticate users and sync tasks and focus history
  • Process Serene Pro purchases and manage entitlements
  • Provide optional Google Calendar features you explicitly connect
  • Provide optional Spotify playback you explicitly connect
  • Run the community board (votes and public suggestions for future rooms and songs)
  • Understand product usage and fix issues
  • Communicate about the service when necessary
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against abuse

4. Google Calendar data

If you grant access, Serene uses Google OAuth to read calendar information for the purpose of displaying today’s events beside your focus tools. We request limited scopes (such as calendar read-only and basic email identity as configured in our Google Cloud project). We do not sell Google user data. Calendar access can be revoked in Serene (disconnect) and/or in your Google Account permissions.

Serene’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Spotify data

If you grant access, Serene uses Spotify OAuth so you can play your music in this room. We request limited scopes (streaming, playback control, playlist and recently-played read, and basic profile as required by Spotify’s Web Playback SDK). We store OAuth tokens server-side and do not sell Spotify user data. Spotify Premium is required to play in the browser. Access can be revoked in Serene (disconnect) and/or in your Spotify account apps.

6. Service providers

We use trusted processors to run the product, including:

  • Supabase (authentication and database hosting)
  • Razorpay (payment processing)
  • Google (optional Calendar OAuth / APIs)
  • Spotify (optional playback OAuth / Web Playback SDK)
  • Analytics providers such as PostHog and Google Analytics
  • Hosting / CDN providers for the website

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers as described above, when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Serene and its users. If you make a dashboard public through product settings, the information you chose to share may be visible to others. Community suggestions you post are public by design. We may remove spam or fold winning ideas into the product.

8. Data retention

We retain account and workspace data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Payment records may be kept as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
